On June 30th, 2024, Onitsha Country Club marked a significant milestone with the commissioning of its brand-new Indoor Sports Hall, a state-of-the-art facility aimed at enhancing the club’s sports offerings and promoting healthy lifestyles. The facility was inaugurated by the distinguished Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah (CON), the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, who has been a longstanding supporter of sports development in the region.

The new Indoor Sports Hall features top-quality amenities designed for various indoor sports, including basketball, badminton, table tennis, and squash. Anietonwa Kingsley Ajulufo, the recently appointed President of Onitsha Country Club for the 2023–2025 term, celebrated a milestone in his leadership by launching two new initiatives—a club bus and a solar power system. These additions were unveiled during an event marking his first 100 days in office, showcasing his commitment to enhancing club services and sustainability.

The club bus, a new addition to the club’s amenities, is expected to provide convenient and comfortable transport for members attending club activities and off-site events. This service aims to strengthen the club’s community by easing access for members who commute from different parts of the city. Ajulufo emphasized that the bus would foster a stronger sense of community, allowing members to participate more actively and stay connected.

Additionally, the solar power system aligns with Ajulufo’s forward-thinking vision for the club’s future. By switching to renewable energy, Onitsha Country Club not only reduces its carbon footprint but also sets an example of environmental stewardship.
